A commercial headquarters for McCorkell Brown Group (McCorkell Constructions). Situated on a main arterial in an unexpected General Residential zone. The proposal was for a utilitarian structure referencing the modular shed, yet functionally tailored for the organisation’s needs over three levels. The sculptured form honours its residential context and scale while providing interest and engagement with Hoddle Street commuters passing by. To the rear the building descends to two stories and connects with the laneway and West Richmond Station beyond.
