Harry & Viv’s House

  • Year— 2019
  • Client— Private
  • Photographer— Dan Hocking

Invisible from the street, the rear renovation achieves minimal exterior impact — while completely transforming the interior experience. The corridor opens onto a double-storey void, bathed in natural light. Further in, a harmonious flow of elements — informed by borrowed space and biophilic principles — blends kitchen, dining and backyard into one Outdoor Room. Every millimetre is used to resolve the precise functionality of a 4.8m wide space. Appliances and storage spaces are discreetly integrated. The island becomes the hearth. Beautiful, green — and somehow more expansive within than without.
